The company rated Barrie as the #9 city in Canada, higher than Ontario cities such as Toronto, Kitchener, and London.

To come up with its rankings, the company took into consideration factors such as education, cost of living, and crime rate. In Barrie, the waterfront, the conservation areas with forests and hiking trails, the vast number of outdoor activities, the libraries, daycares, festivals and events all came into play to propel Barrie into the Top Ten in Canada.
